to change to Audrey’s International Club Christchurch instead so I did. Now, it’s called Audrey’s

International Club Christchurch!

It’s a Free to join no membership fees Interesting Fun Social Club.

Club’s FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/161546120599618/

Audrey's International Club was created on 27th September 2011 by Audrey. This Club is for people

from anywhere in the world to meet new people and mingle which some new migrants to New

Zealand have found to be a good place to ask questions etc..

This Club fosters friendship and helps with people that custom to New Zealand. We also share

our cultures, customs, and countries of origin to each other. We meet over a pot luck type of

arrangement where people bring ethnic foods with their ethnic costumes from their countries of

origin to share with others. It’s also for people to meet new friends, enhance relationships or just to

mingle. Sometimes I organise lunch and dinner at different restaurants and the members find it an

Activities organised by me include ten pin bowling, Devonshire Tea, swimming, picnic, going to

public events i.e. flower shows spring concerts in the park organising events, Laser Strike, walking,

camping outside Christchurch, Picnic by Avon River, Victorian Garden Afternoon Tea Party, Yum

Char Lunch, Tutaepatu Trail Walk, High Tea, cherry picking and picnic by the beautiful lake out of

Christchurch. High Tea at the Casino, the Pallet Pavilion visit, South Brighton Park Trail Walk, picnic

and other activities.

Recent event was The Iris Garden Visit and Victorian Devonshire Tea by the beautiful cottage garden

at Kutokarara.

The Club has 241 members (189 on FB and 52 + not on FB) since 29th September 2011. Twenty- nine

different countries from around the globe. That is AMAZING!

Countries are: New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Iraq, China,

Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, Samoa, Kuwait, Poland, England, New Delhi,

Afghanistan, Jordan, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Wales, Butan, Cambodia, Fiji and Spain. More members

from other countries will join us later.

I communicate to the members via Facebook and email members that aren’t on Facebook of any

information about events coming up and share the events photos on the Club’s FB page.

People from overseas have found it a way to get familiar with their new country by mixing with

people who are in a similar situation to them.
